IMPORTANT MESSAGE

This page was last updated on - 2nd April 2020

The situation and advice is changing often so please contact us if you have any questions.

What are we doing to safeguard you during this challenging situation?

Here at Coastline Gas and Renewable Energy we are taking additional measures to ensure your safety.

While the Government has advised against all non-essential travel, we consider heating and hot water to be a basic need.

Therefore we have implemented the following guidelines:

1. Our engineers will wash their hands before AND after every visit.

We have supplied our engineers with water, hand-wash and their own towel to ensure that they can wash their hands before and after every visit without needing to use your facilities.

2. All our engineers wear disposable gloves.

At the start of the visit to your home, our engineers will wear a fresh set of disposable gloves to ensure we do not touch any part of your home with our hands. This is in addition to washing our hands.

3. We will not automatically inspect every part of your heating and hot water system.

During previous appointments, we would visit every room of your property to check the radiators.

While this ensured all parts of your heating and hot water system were checked, it is not advisable to do so at this time.

We therefore ask that if you are having a problem with a particular radiator, you let us know so that we can inspect that item.
If all your radiators are working properly, we will not inspect them on this visit.

We will still look at your cylinder and header tank (if applicable) and work on the faulty unit in relation to the reported fault.

4. You do not have to be present, as long as you are in the House.

In order to limit face to face communication, we will ask that while working, you occupy another room in the House.

5. We will not ask you to sign our electronic device.

For the time being, we will not require a signature on our electronic worksheet, but please have a pen handy in case we need a signature on official paperwork.

Why are we doing this?

Since we may visit a number of properties each day we need to ensure that our staff are not exposed to unnecessary risk and that we do not carry the virus between customer properties.

Regular hand washing, use of disposable gloves and minimal contact are the sensible precautions needed to minimise this risk.

However, if you feel that you would rather delay our visit for a few weeks we fully understand and simply ask that you book a date in with us now so that you reserve you position as when the current restrictions are relaxed there will be a lot of work to catch up on.

We thank you for your understanding and help during this difficult time.
